Jefferson County Board of Assessors – Field Appraiser

The Jefferson County Board of Assessors is accepting applications for the position of Field Appraiser.

Responsibilities:

The position will work under the direct supervision of the Chief Appraiser and collaborate with other team members to perform a wide variety of duties relating to the fair market valuation of real and personal property to produce an equitable and uniform tax digest each year.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Appraiser certification issued by the Georgia Department of Revenue or the ability to obtain an Appraiser I Certification within six months of employment.
  • Candidates must possess strong computer, analytical, communication, customer service, organizational skills, and proficiency in problem resolution.

Candidates must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. Work is conducted inside the office and outdoors, possibly in inclement weather. Travel and continuing education are required.
