Located in Hershey, PA, Milton Hershey School (MHS) is a home and school for over 2,100 students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Founded in 1909 and fully endowed, MHS has almost 12,000 graduates and is growing to serve more students. MHS is seeking a Director of Financial Systems & Operations. This role is an onsite position and compensates between $100k – $134k, plus an excellent benefits package. Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll. This includes shared services responsibilities.
  • Ensure MHS’s financial technology operates efficiently.
  • Lead resource to develop and maintain ad hoc and recurring financial analysis to ensure wise stewardship and sound financial operations.
  • Lead process improvements in financial operations including leveraging ERP and business analysis technology capabilities.
  • Ensure robust tracking and analysis, manage vendor relationships, maintain reporting compliance, and enforce budgets, policies, and controls.
  • Collaborate to develop business and operations process maps and improvements.
  • Create and maintain ad hoc data analysis.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or similar major.
  • At least 8 years of experience in financial operations.
  • Prior management experience required.
  • Excellent computer application skills including advanced Excel skills. ERP experience desired.
  • Demonstrated skills in overseeing and enhancing financial operations.
  • Exceptional reporting and analysis skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate and influence.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
