- Sets tables, arranges place settings and table decorations according to Texas Roadhouse standards.
- Receives guests, makes suggestions and answers questions about food, wines and other items available.
- Takes and places orders. Receives food and beverages from kitchen and bar when required.
- Maintains sales record. Collects cash or payment by credit card.
- Clears and cleans tables and other customer service areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.

- Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages. (Age requirement to serve/sell alcoholic beverages in the state of Texas is 18 years old)
- Must be able and willing to work a schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, chapter 2.
- Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
QualificationsThis is a developmental position leading to the full performance level, NA-7420-03 Waiter. Employee will be non-competitively promoted to the next grade (PD# AK079) no later than six months of satisfactory performance. The employee works under closer than normal supervision until full performance level is reached. At management’s request, the incumbent may be promoted to the full performance Waiter once all required training is completed, meets all regulatory and qualification requirements; and is performing the full scope of the major duties under the proper level of supervision.Applicant may be hired at the developmental position Waiter (Trainee) NA-7420-02 or at the full performance level Waiter NA-7420-03. *Experience MUST be reflected in resume in order to be considered eligible for Waiter NA-03.*QualificationsTo qualify for the Waiter (Trainee) NA-02:1. Applicant must meet the state of Texas age requirements (18 years old) for the servicing of alcoholic beverages at the time of appointment.

FWS Allowances and Differentials
- This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
- All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
- Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee’s regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee’s regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
