Join a team committed to fostering inclusivity and making a positive impact on people’s lives.Job Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and proactive Marketing Specialist to join our team. This is a hybrid, part-time (max 25 hours per week), grant-funded position with an anticipated end date of September 30, 2025. There is potential for this role to transition to a full-time, permanent position following the grant cycle based on organizational needs.The Marketing Specialist is responsible for the marketing and advertising efforts, including digital, print, content writing, and more. The Marketing Specialist shall have creative energy, an entrepreneurial spirit and be committed to deepening relationships with our audience.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Market through a justice, equitable, diverse and inclusive lens
- Write, design, schedule, and monitor dynamic social media content on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Track marketing strategy statistics and effectiveness
- Creation and execution of internal and external e-newsletters
- Ensure all content is consistent with the organization’s brand
- Manage and create targeted communications, including the coordination of writing, editing, creative design, and distribution
- Support with the development of promotional materials as needed
- Work with the Director of Development and Marketing to attain marketing goals and strategies
- Maintain website(s) with updated information
- Provide marketing support to various departments
- Write and edit communication materials for the organization
- Market and support major fundraising events, including debriefs, post-event surveys, strategic planning, and new creative ideas
- Manage the organization and distribution of promotional items and materials for events, presentations, and partners
- Organize, set-up, and attend community outreach events
- Assist in aligning marketing efforts with organizational goals to promote the AbilityOne® Program and related initiatives.
- Completes other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

- Strong computer and design skills

- Criminal records, driving and recipient rights screening required.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license, good driving record and the availability of licensed, insured vehicle for use on the job required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or related field; or an equivalent amount of experience
- Minimum 2 years of marketing experience
- Minimum 1 year of event experience
- Proficient in design programs including Canva and Adobe
- Must hold a valid Michigan driver’s license and have reliable transportation for work purposes and able to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to work evenings and weekends for outreach and fundraising events as needed
Physical Requirements:
- May occasionally require lifting up to 35 pounds.
