Social Service Specialists/Educators–$18.00 per hour– Schofield Barracks (SB) Hawaii 96857The RoleAre you experienced in delivering training and support services to individuals and families? Do you have a background in education, social work, or community support? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.We are looking for five part-time Social Service Specialists/Educators to provide training and support services to the military community.As a Social Service Specialist/Educator, you will provide education and training focused on prevention and enrichment for military personnel, individuals, couples, and children. Your work will help families develop healthy relationships, cope with deployment, and reduce family violence.If you’re ready to make a difference in the military community, apply today and take the next step in your career!Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver training sessions on topics such as family development, parenting, and deployment support.
- Provide 16 hours of playgroup sessions per month for parents with infants and toddlers (0-4 years old).
- Conduct initial, refresher, and annual training on identifying, reporting, and preventing child abuse, child sexual abuse, and intimate partner violence.
- Train personnel in Child Youth Services, Family Child Care, Medical Treatment Facilities, and Chaplaincy, among others.
- Create and present professional PowerPoint training materials.
- Offer customer service to a diverse population through face-to-face, telephone, and virtual interactions.
The Person
- An Associate’s degree in Education, Social or Behavioural Science, or a related field.
- At least two years’ experience in family and children services or community support.
- One year of experience in family violence, child abuse, or related services.
- Knowledge or experience working with military personnel and their families.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Publisher).
