With our Agency’s mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Spartanburg Office, 250 Dewey Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303
For the purpose of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program. The Counselor II will act as an Employment Specialist, providing intensive assessment, career counseling, and employment services integrated with Employer relationship building.Responsibilities of the Mental Health Professional I include but are not limited to:

  • Promotes program awareness within the community through outreach and engagement activities aimed at local employers, community partners, and individuals.
  • Collaborates with clients to complete program – specific assessments and Career Profiles, to identify preferred employment areas of interest, to identify potential jobs.

State Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in guidance, c counseling, or the social sciences and professional experience in human services or social services program.
