  • Assists Facility Manager in the overall management and operation of a fitness facility. Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
  • Duties include adjusting due to changes in program demands or hours of operation and assisting in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts.
  • Conducts classes and walks all facility rooms to provide guidance or referral as appropriate. Assists with publicity of programs and events assists with marketing of posters, flyers and other promotional material.
  • Issues/receives equipment to authorized users. Assists with the inventory of property. Monitors fitness equipment condition, tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate.
  • Cleans and performs minor maintenance on facility equipment. Instructs customers and monitors proper and safe usage of equipment, as needed.

RequirementsConditions of Employment

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Appointment is subject to favorable suitability determination.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Childcare Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check is required
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED; MWR Orientation Course; Customer Service; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair)
  • Must be available to work day, evening, weekend, and holiday shits depending on organization’s needs.

Qualifications1. Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to operate multiple fitness facilities.
2. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.Resumes will be reviewed to certify the qualifications have been met. Experience must be reflected on resume.Highly Preferred:
1. Possess a Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.Submission of a valid certificate is required to be considered as a highly preferred candidate. PCS Costs

  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government’s interest.

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials

  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.

Incentives and Bonuses

  • Incentives will not be paid.

Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances

  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
