The Probation and Parole Officer 2-Juvenile has a SER of $1,701.60 Biweekly.
The Probation and Parole Officer 3-Juvenile has a SER of $2,084.80 Biweekly.As part of a Career Progression Group, these vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Probation and Parole Officer 1, 2 or 3 (Juvenile), depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant. The maximum salary for the Probation and Parole Officer 3 – Juvenile is $99,362.00 annually. Three years of experience in corrections or law enforcement; ORSix years of full-time experience in any field; ORA bachelor’s degree.EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

To work directly with law enforcement, district attorneys, courts of juvenile jurisdiction, other state agencies, juveniles, their families, and various community-based resources to identify and address problems, to assess risk and need factors, and to develop and implement treatment plans related to status offenses and juvenile delinquency.LEVEL OF WORK:

Differs from Probation and Parole Officer 2–Juvenile by the presence of close supervision and guidance.Examples of WorkEXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.Prepares pre-dispositional investigations and similar reports, discharge plans, etc. for courts with juvenile jurisdiction.Provides offenders and their families with an understanding of court expectations.Works closely with judges, law enforcement agencies, and various community-based resources in providing services and supervision to juveniles.Keeps the court advised on progress of juveniles under supervision as well as those committed to correctional institutions.Maintains case records and data files including narrative entries, reports, forms, and court documents as well as updating case activities and status for the automated data system.Determines risks and needs of juveniles under agency custody or supervision and develops and implements service plans to meet those needs.Schedules and conducts intake screening interviews and prepares recommendations to the district attorney.Testifies in court hearings accompanying or representing youth and agency.Develops and monitors informal adjustment agreements for juveniles prior to adjudication as authorized by a district attorney or the court.Serves as secondary case manager for juveniles assigned to secure facilities.Provides support to agency personnel in the event of an emergency or escape.Transports youth to and from residential and correctional facilities when needed.Provides support to staff in the Secure Care Facilities.Louisiana State Government represents a wide variety of career options and offers an outstanding opportunity to make a difference through public service.
