Job Title: On-Call Home Health Aid (HHA)

Compensation:

• Flat rate of $175 per weekend
• Additional Hourly rate of $19.00- $23.00 for any shifts filled during the weekend

A HHA provides personal care, home management, and other related home health supportive services. Our goal is to assist seniors and allow them to continue living in their home environment. The Home Health Aide works under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse and provides care in accordance with the DOH Matrix of permissible and non-permissible activities. Part-time positions are available.Requirements:

• Must be a Certified Home Health Aide (HHA)
• Willingness to work in private homes
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Ability to work with all clients, including smokers and households with pets
• Availability from Friday 5:00 PM to Monday 8:00 AM on alternate weekends

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of an NYS DOH approved Home Health Aide training program as demonstrated by a valid Certificate
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English sufficiently to understand and interpret the HHA Plan of Care, document care provided, and able to call the office staff to report any change and/or issues.
• Must be reliable and compassionate
• Must have a current driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and proof of auto insurance
• Experience preferred
• Must be able to travel throughout North East Monroe County (Pittsford, Webster, Fairport, Penfield, East Rochester)
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach
• Must respond to calls, text messages, and emails within ½ hour during on-call weekends
• Must accept shifts during the on-call weekend
• Provide compassionate care to clients in their homes
• Assist with daily living activities and personal care
• Ensure clients’ safety and comfort

Primary Responsibilities:

• Must respond to calls, text messages, emails within ½ hour during on-call weekends
• Must accept shifts during the on-call weekend
• Preparing and serving normal/therapeutic diets
• Provide compassionate care to clients in their homes
• Assisting with bathing, personal care, and dressing
• Monitoring changes in client’s mental and physical conditions
• Light housekeeping
• Assist clients with self-administered medications
• Take, record, and monitor temperature, pulse, respiration, intake/output
• Additional functions permissible under special circumstances
• Maintain and protect client confidentiality
