Job Description
OverviewThe YMCA of the Pikes Peak region is seeking an enthusiastic MOSSA Instructor. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.The Mossa instructor is a certified fitness professional who leads group exercise classes based on the Mossa program, which features a variety of structured routines with choreographed movements, focusing on delivering high-energy, motivating classes with a mix of music and movement, while ensuring proper form and safety for participants of all fitness levels.We are looking for Group Power MOSSA instructors.Responsibilities
- Lead fitness classes following YMCA Instructor Guidlines, Protocols, and Visions of Excellence
- Record and maintain attendance records
- Set up facility or equipment, store equipment, and secore facility upon completion
- Prepare progressive excerise plans
- Secure qualified substitute instructor when needed
- Report injuries and complete required forms
- Support and follow YMCA policies and decisions and answer member questions about the YMCA and its programs and fitness related questions
- Attend staff meetings
- Provide music that meets YMCA standards
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Current MOSSA Certification
- Completion of YUSA online courses within 30 days of hire (Orientation to Helthy Living at the Y, Foundations of Listen First, Priniples of Member Health & Wellness, and Group Excercise at the Y)
- General Knowledge of fitness principles and training adaptations including basic anatomy and physiology
