Job Summary:An Excavator Operator will work in pits and quarries strilling topsoil, overburdening, and reclaiming. Take ownership of your role by completing trip inspections, operating equipment safely, and working with a team that feels like family.For more information regarding this position, contact Wes at 307.299.7550.Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate scraper in pits and quarries stripping topsoil, overburdening, and reclaiming.
- Operate the scraper safely and productively.
- Complete pre and post-trip inspection and other required paperwork.
- Fuel, grease, maintain, and help service equipment.
- Assist in the field as a laborer (i.e. shoveling, cleaning equipment, set-up and tear down, etc.).
- Operate and maintain other equipment as needed (i.e. loader, skid loader, etc.).
- Work well with crew members and take direction from supervisor.
- Team player mentality and eagerness to cross-train on topics such as laborer, mechanics, etc.
- Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.
Position Requirements:
- Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
- Current MSHA certification.
- Use of hand tools to maintain and repair equipment.
- Mechanical background and skill.
- Personal protective equipment is required.
- Possess excellent communication skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms.
- Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.
- A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.
- Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.
- Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
