This position offers exposure to various data center tasks, including the installation, configuration, and support of critical electronic equipment. Technicians will be responsible for handling, transporting, and racking equipment within data center environments.This role is perfect for individuals with strong attention to detail, good physical stamina, and a willingness to learn on the job. No prior experience is required, and training will be provided for all necessary tasks.Salary:$25-$35/hr. Depending on Experience + Project End Bonus
- Project End Retention Bonus Conditions:
- The total accrued amount will be paid out in a lump sum at project completion with all days worked
- If the employee voluntarily leaves the company or is terminated for cause before the end of the retention period, they forfeit all accrued bonuses
Tasks:
- Equipment Handling: Unpack and prepare electronic equipment for installation.
- Transportation of Equipment: Safely transport electronic devices within the data center facility (may require lifting up to 50 lbs).
- Rack and Stack: Install and secure electronic equipment into data center racks, ensuring proper setup.
- Basic Cable Management: Assist in organizing and routing cables to ensure proper setup of devices in racks.
- Inventory Management: Maintain records of equipment used, moved, and installed within the data center.
- General Support: Assist senior technicians with on-site tasks as required, including troubleshooting and configuring basic IT hardware.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Must be physically able to lift and carry electronic equipment weighing up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and navigate large data center environments.
- On-the-job training will be provided.
- A willingness to learn and follow directions is essential.
- Familiarity with basic tools and equipment (screwdrivers, pliers, etc.) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of IT hardware or desire to learn technical skills.
- Ability to follow structured guidelines for installation and equipment handling.
- Organized and meticulous in handling sensitive technology.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and take direction from senior staff.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
