This position plays a crucial role in supporting our mission to strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As a leading nonprofit organization, the YMCA is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow academically, socially, and emotionally, and we are looking for a Site Coordinator who shares this commitment.As the Kidstop Site Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our afterschool program, ensuring that it is both high-quality and developmentally appropriate. Your primary focus will be on creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment where children can develop important soft skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and creativity. These skills are essential not only for their academic success but also for their overall growth as individuals. In this role, you will implement an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes these values, while also ensuring the physical and emotional safety of every child in your care.Your responsibilities will include conducting formal and informal evaluations of Kidstop staff, ensuring that each staff member meets their performance objectives. You will also play a key role in recognizing the achievements of your team, whether through formal acknowledgment or informal praise, to maintain a positive and motivated workforce. Building and maintaining strong relationships with school principals, teachers, and other administrative staff is another critical aspect of this role. Your ability to collaborate effectively with school personnel will help ensure the success of the Kidstop program and its alignment with the broader educational goals of the schools we serve.In addition to your work with school staff, you will be responsible for maintaining positive and open communication with parents, helping them stay informed about their child’s progress and the activities offered in the program. You will ensure that all program materials, equipment, and supplies are well-maintained and used appropriately, in accordance with YMCA safety policies and state and local codes. Accurate record-keeping is also essential in this role, and you will be expected to maintain neat and up-to-date attendance records, lesson plans, and any necessary reports on incidents or accidents.This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who is able to connect with both children and adults in a meaningful way. You will be expected to attend and actively participate in weekly meetings with the Kidstop Site Coordinator and OST Coordinator to ensure that you are informed and prepared to communicate important information to your team. Your role will also involve engaging with YMCA members and program participants, contributing to the overall membership goals of the organization by embodying the values of friendliness, courtesy, and community spirit.The ideal candidate for this position will have teaching experience and a strong background in working with children in a similar setting.
